The Next Generation
Vistra has established endowed scholarships for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and those with significant multi-cultural student bodies.
Vistra has engaged in efforts to expand access to employment and evolve our company hiring practices. Initiatives include: Implementing skills-based hiring techniques, removing names from candidate resumes, and incorporating DEI initiatives into hiring training.
Vistra is IN
Vistra CEO Curt Morgan partnered with Disability:IN in 2021 for the CEO-to-CEO letter campaign, asking other Fortune 1000 businesses to advance disability inclusion and equality. Vistra also participates in the nonprofit’s Disability Equality Index, a comprehensive benchmarking tool helping companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions towards disability inclusion and equality.
12 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
These employee-created groups help create a welcoming, diverse culture. Groups include resources for racial minorities, veterans, and LGBTQ+ community members, among others. Through the Vistra ERGs, the company’s CEO and executive leadership have facilitated and attended dozens of listening sessions around the issues and experiences that affect our diverse employee population.
Vistra’s Board of Directors is 30% female and 20% ethnically diverse. Our DEI efforts are led by our Chief Diversity Officer and a dedicated Diversity Recruiter.
A Diverse Supply Chain
At Vistra, we recognize that a successful, progressive, and innovative supply chain diversity initiative not only enhances the economic development of communities but strengthens Vistra’s competitive advantage in the marketplace. In 2020, we achieved ~13% spend with Small Business Enterprises and nearly 7% spend with Diverse Business Enterprises with third-party certification.Vistra is a member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC.) The group advances business opportunities for minority businesses and connects them to corporate members.
Vistra is a proud member of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion. This CEO-driven initiative is designed to bring meaningful change to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Vistra also supports CEO Action’s Racial Equity Fellowship program. Fellows contribute their knowledge and bring key learnings back to their organization.
