What started in 2019 as a quiet local event has grown into something much bigger.
The seventh annual Davis-Besse Community Day and Car Show was the most successful yet, drawing more than 5,000 visitors and over 600 cars for a day that combined community connection, education, and impact.
Hosted by the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant team, the event gives neighbors a closer look at how nuclear energy works while creating a space for families to come together and have fun. As a source of reliable, around-the-clock power for the region, Davis-Besse plays an important role in supporting everyday life, and Community Day offers a chance to connect that work directly to the community it serves.
From the control room simulator to a lively kids’ zone, there was something for everyone, alongside a standout car show that continues to grow each year.
Behind the scenes, the event is powered by people. Around 80 Davis-Besse employees volunteered their time to bring Community Day to life, reflecting the team’s commitment to the communities where they live and work.
That commitment extends beyond the event itself. This year, the team raised more than $13,000 for Christy’s Corner Cafe, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering adults with special needs, turning a day of fun into meaningful support for a local cause.
As Community Day continues to grow, one thing remains constant. It is about more than cars or activities. It is about bringing people together and making a lasting impact.
